What is Peer Mentoring?
The Peer Mentoring program pairs a more experienced student with a less experienced student to provide information, advice, support, accountability, and encouragement during their time at MCCN. Mentors and mentees communicate regularly throughout the semester and work on a variety of areas, including time management, organization, study skills, test-taking strategies, and accountability. The mentor/mentee relationship usually lasts for one semester, starting at any point during the semester and lasting through finals week.
Who can join the Peer Mentoring program?
Students participate in the Peer Mentoring program on a voluntary basis upon the recommendation of the Student Success Coordinator. If you feel Peer Mentoring may be a good fit for you, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
