APA Review

The Student Success Center will hold an APA review Workshop for DNP students on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, from 4:00-5:00. This session will be held online.

Topics will include formatting the overall paper and the title page, using headings, setting up a References list, citing different types of sources, and creating in-text citations. Please have your APA Manual (7th ed.) with you to complete the activities.

Writing and Tailoring a Resume

Registering for Spring Semester

The Student Success Center will present a Workshop on how to register for Spring Semester classes. The Traditional Pre-Licensure course of study for students entering in Fall 2021 will be covered, including which courses all students must take and when. Please bring your laptop or iPad to follow along on CarmeLink. 

Peer Advisor Alyssa Bolin will present the Workshop on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, from 3:00-4:00 in Classroom Gamma on the Lancaster campus. If you are planning to attend, you must RSVP since the space in Classroom Gamma is limited.

Peer Advisor Chloe Troyer will present the Workshop on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 5:30-6:00 in CLE, Room 208 on the Columbus campus.

All freshmen and transfer students are invited to attend. 

 

Taking Notes with an iPad

The Student Success Center will offer this workshop on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 3:00-4:00 at the Lancaster campus, Fairfield Medical Center, Mid-level, Classroom Gamma.

MCCN students Emma Reese and Makayla Byrd will share their expertise in taking notes on an iPad. Topics will include basic note-taking tips as well as how to save and organize information. There will also be a Q&A session at the end for other iPad-related questions. This workshop is open to all students and will be led by Peer Advisor Alyssa Bolin.

Please bring your iPad or laptop since this will be a "hands-on" session.

Using Canvas and CarmeLink

The Student Success Center will offer this workshop on Friday, August 20, 2021, from 11:00-12:00 at the Columbus campus, CLE, Room 114 and 3:00 - 4:00 pm at the Lancaster campus, Fairfield Medical Center, Mid-level, Classroom Alpha.

The learning sessions will be open to all students but focuses specifically on freshmen who are new to both platforms and sophomores who have specific questions. The workshop will be led by Peer Advisor Alyssa Bolin.

Please bring your iPad or laptop since this will be a "hands-on" session with a scavenger hunt activity.

Writing Workshop/Review of how to search scholarly articles 

The Student Success Center is excited to offer workshops on March 16, 2021 from 8:00 -10:00 AM and on March 23, 2021 from 8:00-10:00 AM. The learning sessions will be open to all students. The workshop will be lead by Professor Cooley. The focus will be on the following:

1. How to compose a well written paper using proper APA format.

2. How to best locate high quality articles to support paper composition.

Mindfulness Weekly Workshop
 
Every Monday Professor Huff will be generously sharing her expertise with YOU during a 60 minute Mindfulness Session that she will lead using her knowledge of proven techniques to assist with stress management and increased body awareness.
